Curren Katz, PhD brings 15+ years of healthcare experience across payer, provider and pharmaceutical. As Sr. Director of Data Science at Janssen R&D, Curren leads Portfolio Strategy & Governance and Real-World Data for Neuroscience. Since joining Janssen in May of 2021, Curren has led cross-therapeutic area Digital Health strategy, implemented novel endpoints in clinical trials, and collaborated across J&J to innovate digital, regulatory and payer approaches. Prior to joining Janssen, Curren developed and led the Data Science at Highmark Health, the 2nd largest integrated payer-provider system in the US. Prior to that, Curren led research at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center Department of Biological Psychiatry, Harvard Laboratory for Developmental Studies, Humboldt-Universität and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Curren received her PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from Humboldt-Universität of Berlin, master’s degree from Harvard University, and undergraduate degree from New York University.

Curren was named one of IBMs top 40 women leaders in AI for 2021, represented Janssen on the Digital Medicine Society (DiME) Digital Endpoint Value team, has been a member of the Analytic Leader’s Council for the International Institute of Analytics (IIA), and represented Highmark at the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF).
